Property verification
Verification exists so that a renter – and anyone helping them decide – can tell the difference between a listing someone has actually checked and one that was simply uploaded.
We deliberately do not use a single vague “verified” tick. Each listing shows the individual checks that were completed.
The checks
What we verify
Moving to a new city is hard enough. Finding somewhere to live should not be the worst part of it.
Owner identity verified
We check a government photo ID against the account before anyone is allowed to list a property.
Owner authority verified
We confirm the person listing the property actually has the right to rent it out.
Address verified
We confirm the property exists at the address given, and that the location on the map is correct.
Photos verified
We confirm the photographs are of this property and are reasonably current, not stock images or an older listing.
Physically visited
Where a physical inspection has been carried out, we say so and record when it happened.
Availability confirmed
We record when the owner last confirmed their free beds, and label the listing when that has gone stale.
